Benefits of Mindfulness for Young People with Cancer

We have designed a web-based mindfulness program with feedback from young people, care givers, healthcare providers and parents. We are now assessing whether the mindfulness program is acceptable, practical and useful for young people with cancer. It includes a series of formal and informal mindfulness meditation and activities which have shown promise in managing stress and anxiety. You can access the program as a mobile app on IOS or Android.

If you join the study, you will be placed in either the ‘study group’ or the ‘waiting group’. If you are in the study group, you will be given access to the mindfulness program straight after the first survey. You’ll be asked to follow the program for six weeks, and to help stay on track we will send you weekly reminders over email or text. After six weeks, we will ask both groups to fill out another short survey. If you are in the waiting group, you will get access to the mindfulness program after this second survey.

To thank you for your time, you will receive a gift voucher worth $50.
