Reflecting on a year of growth, support and impact: Canteen Australia’s Annual Report

Submitted by Ravi_Canteen on

We’re proud to share Canteen Australia’s 2025 Annual Report. It shows a year defined by continued growth, generosity of our supporters and deeper reach into the lives of young people affected by cancer across Australia.

This Annual Report is more than a review. It’s a thank-you to every supporter, volunteer, partner and staff member who stands in the corner of young Australians when cancer crashes into their world.

A record year of support and connection

Over the past financial year, Canteen delivered nearly 32,000 free, tailored support experiences for young people impacted by cancer; an unprecedented level of service. These include counselling, peer connection, practical guidance and compassionate care that help young people feel seen, understood and less alone in their cancer journey. 99% of those we supported said they would recommend Canteen to others, a testament to the quality, relevance and importance of our work.

Much of this growth has been fuelled by expanded reach of Cancer Hub, a service jointly delivered by Canteen, Camp Quality and Redkite, thanks to new federal funding that enables us to be there for more families when they need it most. Cancer Hub continues to evolve as a central gateway for emotional, practical and clinical support, connecting families to expert help at every stage of their cancer experience.

Community-powered impact

Our ability to deliver life-changing services stems from the generosity of our supporters. Around 80% of our funding comes directly from community generosity. That’s individuals, families, fundraisers and donors who choose to stand with young people facing cancer. This enduring support ensures Canteen remains FREE for all who need it, with no barriers to access.
