SG - Donation Hub - How Canteen Uses Your Donations

Where your donation goes

Your donation helps young Australians aged between 12-25 deal with the immense challenges cancer brings. Whether you give once or regularly, your donation plays a role in funding vital support services, including:

  • Free and tailored counselling - providing young people with a safe space to talk to trained staff who understand the challenges of cancer, helping them express their feelings and develop healthy coping strategies.

  • Programs and events - fostering peer connection and offering much-needed respite from the everyday stress of cancer.

  • Youth leadership training - empowering young people to build skills, confidence and resilience that will serve them long after their time with Canteen.

  • Education and career support - helping young people manage the disruptions cancer causes to school, university and work.

  • Life-saving clinical trials - improving health outcomes for cancer patients aged 15–25 through groundbreaking research and treatment opportunities.

Why a one-off donation matters

Every year, another 23,000 young people have their world turned upside down by a loved one’s cancer, or their own cancer diagnosis. That’s where your support through Canteen can make a difference - in our last financial year, we delivered almost 32,000 support services!

Thanks to generous Australians like you, young people impacted by cancer can access:

Every one of these services helps young Australians cope, connect, and rebuild their lives after cancer.

Immediate and long-term change

Monthly giving provides a predictable and stable income stream, allowing us to effectively plan ahead and invest in long-term programs and support services. One-off donations play a vital role in helping us respond to the immediate needs of young people - like providing urgent counselling for distressed teenagers facing a diagnosis.

Thanks to your support - whether monthly or one-off - we’re able to reach thousands of young Australians impacted by cancer every year. Together, we can make sure no young person faces cancer alone.
