Dr Rick Walker

Lead Clinician 

Rick is an oncologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane and the Princess Alexandra Hospital and specialises in the treatment of adolescents and young adults.  He completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland. Rick has completed a clinical fellowship in paediatric and adolescent oncology and worked closely with the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Roslyn Henney

Service Manager 

Roslyn is the Service Manager of the Queensland Youth Cancer Service. As a registered nurse she has significant leadership experience at both a service and executive level in health management. Roslyn holds a Master of Health Administration, UNSW; and a GradDip in Early Childhood Studies, Melbourne.

Jane Roach

Clinical Nurse Consultant/ Cancer Care Coordinator

Jane has been working in cancer care for the past 15 years in both paediatric and adult, public and private inpatient and outpatient units. Jane has been a nurse educator for the past 11 years and she has completed her Masters of Nursing specialising in Oncology and Graduate Certificates in Clinical Education and Adolescent and Young Adults with Cancer.

Rebekah Orford

Statewide Educator

Rebekah has been working as a Registered Nurse and Clinical Practice Facilitator since 2003. Rebekah has worked in the adult transplant unit and paediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant unit in Australia and in Ireland. In September 2015 Rebekah commenced as the Statewide Educator and is very passionate about adolescent and young adult cancer care.  

Natalie Bradford

Nurse Researcher / Research Fellow

Natalie has a clinical background as a nurse specialising in paediatric oncology and palliative care. Natalie has a keen interest in research, particularly health services research, investigating models of care for optimal health care delivery.  Natalie has now joined the Qld Youth cancer service to undertake research and investigate models of health service delivery for adolescents and young adults with cancer.

Anita Cox

Clinical Nurse Consultant / Cancer Care Coordinator 

Anita has been working as the Youth Cancer Nurse Consultant at Gold Coast University Hospital since February 2014. Anita has worked in paediatric oncology, bone marrow transplant and adult oncology departments for over 20 years in both England and Australia in tertiary hospitals, regional hospitals and in both the public and private sectors.

Janine Deevey

AYA Cancer Care Coordinator 

Since graduating from the University of Queensland in 1996 with a Bachelor of Social Work Degree, Janine has worked in both hospital and community settings within Queensland and the United Kingdom.  Janine’s passion for Youth Cancer Care was first ignited when she was employed as the Haematology Social Worker at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Kirk Morris

Youth Haematology Medical Lead 

Kirk is a clinical and laboratory haematologist based at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.  He enjoys all aspects of malignant and non-malignant haematology, but has a particular focus on Youth Cancer patients and the provision of first class care to regional areas of Queensland. Kirk commenced as the Youth Lead Haematology in 2013.

Fiona Henderson

AYA Cancer Care Coordinator 

Fiona has over 20 years of cancer nursing (haematology and oncology) experience incorporating the care of adolescent and young adult patients. Fiona has a strong interest in adolescent and young adult cancer care and started as a AYA Clinical Nurse Consultant / Cancer Care Coordinator for PAH in November 2011.

Lyndal Gray

Senior Leisure Therapist

Lyndal graduated from university in 2004 and has been working in the field of AYA oncology since 2006.  As a leisure therapist, Lyndal helps young people use leisure to set goals and in turn create purpose, meaning, independence and hope during cancer treatment and beyond.  Lyndal is also passionate about training health professionals on how to better communicate with young people in adult hospitals.

Belinda Matigian

Senior Social Worker 

Belinda has been working in the field of Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology since 2008 and assisted in the development of the Princess Alexandra Hospital YCS team. She has particular interest in exploring the psychosocial needs of patients and their families receiving palliative care, as well as developing consumer engagement strategies within the Queensland YCS.

Katrina Hampton

AYA Cancer Care Coordinator 

Katrina started with the QLD Youth Cancer Services in Townsville in September 2014.  Katrina has worked in adult oncology departments for over 14 years throughout Australia in both the outpatient and inpatient setting since 2002 and prior to this New Zealand.

Corinne Ryan

YCS Medical Lead

Corinne is a general medical oncologist working at the Townsville Cancer Centre.  Corinne trained at James Cook University in Townsville, graduating with Honours.  She has subsequently completed her medical oncology training in South East Queensland, completing terms at the Princess Alexandra and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals among others.  Corinne has special interests in adolescent and young adult cancer, breast, ovarian and lung cancers.

Pardeep Dhanda

YCS Cancer Nurse Coordinator 

Pardeep has been working in oncology for the last 15 years in Canada and Australia.  She has experience in clinical nursing, in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Pardeep has worked as a Patient Care Coordinator, Educator and has led Breast Cancer Care Clinics. She also has a Master of Education from Norwich University, Burlington Vermont.
