The Queensland Youth Cancer Service is for young people with cancer aged between 15-25 years. The State-wide service is coordinated through a multidisciplinary central team based at the Queensland Children’s Hospital’s Hospital, within Children’s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQ). This central team coordinates the QYCS network across and beyond Brisbane, and includes the Gold Coast University Hospital to the south and The Townsville Hospital in the north of the State. Linkage to the private sector will be enhanced through the collaboration with major providers in Queensland.
The QYCS provides expert care and support to young people with cancer across Queensland. The service is designed specifically for the 15-25 year age group. Young people with cancer have specific physical, social, educational and practical support needs which require the assistance of expertly trained professionals both during and after treatment.
