While most young people do survive cancer, the sad truth is that sometimes cancer can’t be cured.
Being told that your cancer cannot be cured and that you will die from the disease is probably the hardest thing you and your family will have to deal with. Learning to live with the knowledge that your cancer is incurable is not easy (understatement of the year) and it will be different for everyone.
Getting the right information is essential, so you understand what’s likely to happen and when, and can make decisions that are right for you.
It’s important to get support – from your family, friends, YCS team or a counsellor – to deal with your emotions and fears, so that you can focus on the things you want to do, say or get sorted.
