How do I set up a direct debit for my monthly donation?

Setting up a direct debit with Canteen is simple and secure:

  1. Go to our donation page and choose to ‘give monthly'
  2. Choose your monthly amount (minimum amount is $5)
  3. Enter your name and email address
  4. Choose whether you want your payment to be processed on the 2nd or the 16th of each month
  5. Choose a payment method - we accept all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express
  6. Confirm your donation - ye’ll send you a confirmation email to welcome you and thank you for your monthly gift, and for choosing to stand with young people impacted by cancer.

Your monthly donation will automatically be processed each month on either the 2nd or the 16th.

Is it safe to set up a regular monthly donation online?

Yes. All direct debits are processed through a secure, encrypted payment gateway. Your personal and financial details are handled in accordance with strict privacy standards. See our privacy policy for more details.

Can I choose the date my donation is processed?

Absolutely. During setup, you can select your preferred payment date - either the 2nd or and 16th of each month. If you’d like to change it later, just contact us - we’ll make the update for you.

Will I receive receipts for my direct debit donations?

Yes.  At the end of each financial year, we’ll also send you a consolidated tax statement showing your total donations for the year.

Can I change or pause my monthly donation?

Definitely. You’re in full control. At any time, you can:

  • Update your donation amount
  • Pause donations for a set period
  • Cancel your donation completely

What happens if there are insufficient funds in my account?

If you are paying for your regular donation via a credit or debit card and it fails, we will re-attempt the transaction for 9 consecutive days following the debit day, so you’ll have time to ensure that there are sufficient funds in your account so the donation can be processed.
