From the information available to us, we understand the Australian Government aims to remove cheques by 2030. However, we’ve seen some banks begin to phase out cheques as early as 2023 and this is continuing at a rapid rate throughout 2024.
As each bank is approaching the removal of cheques differently, we recommend contacting your participating bank for further information. Below are the contact details for some of Australia’s major banks where you can direct your specific questions.

ANZ: www.anz.com.au/support/contact-us/
Westpac: www.westpac.com.au/contact-us/
A large proportion of our donations come from generous supporters who give via cheque. The removal of cheques may unfortunately lead to less donations and therefore less support for young people impacted by cancer.
However, we want to avoid this as best as possible, so we’ve introduced alternative payment options so you can continue to donate safely and securely.
As long as your cheques are issued by an Australian bank, we will continue to accept them until the official government end date in 2030.
Online donations:
We recently introduced ApplePay, GooglePay and PayPal. Our platform also ensures security with credit card and debit card payments.
Mail donations:
BPAY is a popular alternative and we still accept cash donations, credit card and debit card payments if that’s preferred.
Phone donations:
Our friendly Supporter Care Team can take payment via credit card securely over the phone.
We understand that this is a big change, so please feel free to call our Supporter Care Team on 1800 639 614. They will guide you through any queries you have.
