CanTeen and Metricon announce three-year partnership to focus on family and community

CanTeen is proud to announce a newly formed strategic partnership with Metricon Homes today. The next three years will see CanTeen work closely with the national home builder to realise a shared vision of impacting communities and families for the better.
CanTeen CEO, Peter Orchard, said the partnership signals the beginning of a significant joint commitment to young people dealing with the impact of cancer on their families.
“Metricon’s support will enable us to reach even more of the 23,000 young people impacted by a cancer diagnosis each year and give us the ability to respond quickly to their unique emotional, social and treatment needs,” Mr Orchard said.
Today’s announcement also signals Metricon’s commitment to its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy and the engagement of more than 1,600 employees based in Victoria, NSW, Qld and SA.
“We know that our people are passionate about many charitable causes and that affordable housing, youth and health rank very highly as their priority cause areas,” said Mario Biasin, Metricon’s Chief Executive Officer.
“The synergies between CanTeen and Metricon became evident very quickly once we started exploring ways we could work together,” he added.
Metricon’s CSR strategy will bestow more than one million dollars in financial support to CanTeen over the three-year term plus considerable in-kind support through volunteering and skills sharing.
The partnership is well and truly underway and will be celebrated with a 450km, four-day bike planned by Metricon employees from 25-28 May to raise additional funds for CanTeen. To find out more and donate, visit: raiseit.org.au/event/metriconcycle
