Adolescents and young adults (‘AYAs’) with cancer have unique and complex medical and psychosocial needs, distinct from those of paediatric and older adult patients, and as such require tailored, specialised AYA cancer care.

Canteen Australia is pleased to announce the upcoming 6th Global Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Congress, taking place on 3-6 December 2024 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. This international congress is a key forum for advancing AYA cancer care for over 400 professionals, encompassing medical, nursing, allied health, and psychosocial care experts, alongside AYA patient advocates.

Key Dates for Your Calendar:

  • Mid-February 2024 - Call for Abstracts Opens
  • Mid-March 2024 - Early Bird Registrations Open

Building on highly successful events in Edinburgh in 2016, Atlanta in 2017, Sydney in 2018, UK (online) in 2021, and LA in 2023, this year’s Global Congress will unite a global community dedicated to advancing AYA cancer care. The 2024 edition, "Ethics, Equity, and Emerging Ideas," is poised to drive collaboration, innovation, and ethical considerations in AYA cancer care.

Congress Highlights:

  • Focused Themes: Explore Ethics, Equity, and Emerging Ideas in AYA cancer care.
  • Global Collaboration: Connect with international experts and advocates for enhanced cancer care outcomes.
  • Multidisciplinary Discourse: Delve into progress and challenges across the AYA cancer care continuum.

Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to come together with medical, research, advocates, and consumer leaders in the AYA field in addressing the distinctive needs of young people navigating cancer. Join us in Melbourne as we collectively advance AYA cancer patient care. Your participation will contribute to a significant impact on the global stage.

The Global AYA Cancer Congress series was established in 2016 in partnership with Canteen Australia, Teenage Cancer Trust (UK), and Teen Cancer America (USA), dedicated to driving improvements in the care of adolescents and young adults with cancer.
