Cancer and cancer treatments can cause a range of ‘side effects’ – problems that occur mostly when treatment affects healthy tissues or organs. Side effects vary depending on the type of cancer and type and amount of treatment you have and how your body reacts.
Your doctor or someone else in your YCS team should tell you about the likely side effects of your treatment/s – and anything you can do to minimise or cope with them. That way you know what to expect and won’t be taken by surprise!
If you’re concerned about any symptoms, at any time, talk to your YCS nurse or someone else in your treating team.
