CanTeen relies on the assistance and support of our volunteers to help us deliver our programs for young people. We can’t run our programs without our generous volunteers. As a Regional Support Volunteer in our Port Macquarie regional, you have specialist skills that are essential in the running of our programs and engaging with the community.
CanTeen are seeking a Regional Support Volunteer who can assist and take the lead on various community engagements such as:
– Planning and delivering short recreational programs for Young People
– Representing CanTeen at community events to raise awareness?
What’s involved in Programs?
CanTeen programs run for up to 6 hours and provide our Members with the opportunity to meet other young people going through a similar experience, receive psychosocial support and have some respite and ‘time out’. Program Volunteers play a crucial role providing effective support and supervision to Young People Living with Cancer attending recreational days and programs. This role will also be developed to include taking a lead in planning and running short programs with limited supervision.
What’s involved in Community Engagement?
Regional Support Volunteers will be trained to provide information about CanTeen services to the community in places such as school. Volunteers will act as brand ambassadors.
