Find support for a young person
As a health professional, you play an important role in ensuring that young people living with cancer have access to all the support that they require.
Young people affected by cancer are three to six times more likely than their peers to experience high levels of psychological distress, which in turn can cause long term depression and anxiety. Find out more about the need for support here.
CanTeen offers a wide range of specialist services to help young people cope with their own cancer or cancer in their family, but we know that young people often won’t seek help unless they’re encouraged to.
That’s why your referral is so essential to ensuring that young people living with cancer access the support that’s available to them. All you need to do is contact us online, call 1800 835 932 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we can do the rest.
You can also order CanTeen resources, including our highly regarded Now What books and CanTeen Keys (a USB stick that connects young people with our world leading online support platform).
CanTeen works with young people aged 12 -25 who are dealing with:
- Having cancer themselves
- A parent or sibling being diagnosed with cancer
- The death of a parent or sibling from cancer
