Our young people
If you are a young person, aged 12-24 living with cancer, then you can become a Member of CanTeen!

A little about CanTeen...
To our Members, CanTeen is a place where young people can simply be young people, away from the pressures of dealing with cancer in their daily lives.
The best support young people can get is from others who have ‘been there, done that’, so all of our camps and programs are designed to make sure they get the strength and support they need from young people just like them.
Through our wide range of camps and programs, CanTeen encourages Members to share their experiences and make great friends...and of course, to have lots of fun!
Who our Members are
CanTeen's Members are young people aged between 12 and 24 who are*
- Cancer patients – called Patient Members
- Brothers or sisters of cancer patients – called Sibling Members
- Young people with a parent or primary carer with cancer – called Offspring Members
- Young people who have a brother, sister, parent who has died from cancer – called Bereaved Sibling Members and Bereaved Offspring Members
*Young people who don't quite fit these descriptions might still be able to join - contact us for more information.
What our Members do
As well as finding the assistance and understanding they need just by being a part of CanTeen, many of our Members are also involved in the day-to-day running of the organisation. They participate in activities such as:
- Talking to patients and encouraging new Members through the TeenLinker program
- Planning upcoming camps with CanTeen staff; taking part in the strategic operations of the organisation as Members of the Board
- Providing feedback and advising on programs; and participating in research.
