Sponsorship ideas

- Ask for sponsorship per km or per minute for the distance or time travelled.

- Put their donation in context eg: the cost of a latte - $3 - either each day or each week between now and the race...that way your donor is also raising more than a sweat for young people living with cancer!

- Ask someone to sponsor your training effort - if you plan to train for 6 weeks ask them to sponsor you $10 a week or $5 for every training session.

- Ask your work colleagues to sponsor you with whatever is in the coin section of their wallet or in their pocket right now? This approach is hard to say no to and even though it may be not a huge amount if you ask enough people the results can build.

- Sponsor yourself! Set some goals and when you meet them, donate some dollars to help your fundraising efforts.

- Ask your company to dollar match the amount you raise. It's the easiest way to turn $500 into $1000!

When to ask?

- Don't hound people but make sure everyone you know knows what you are doing...mention raising funds to help support young people living with cancer and see what happens!

- If you have a celebration or a birthday around the time of the event then ask people to sponsor you instead of a gift.

- If this is your first time entering the event, or if you have undertaken a long fitness program in a order to be able to compete then be proud of your efforts...ask everyone to recognise your commitment by jumping on board!
